Japanese Sankaku Garden Trenching Hoe
The Japanese Sankaku Trenching Hoe has a bent triangular blade which makes it the perfect tool for small trenching and digging. The handle is about 14 inches long and the blade measures 6"" by 3"". The heft is in the blade end but it isn't too heavy to wield and maneuver. It's narrow enough for tight places. It's good for planting seeds, bedding plants and bulbs. It is also used to make irrigation channels (a much underused form of irrigation especially for the smaller garden). According to one of my customers, it's also good for cutting around bricks and stones.
